Performance Poetry!

This week the class continued their unit of Performance Poetry. Mrs Bell was thrilled with the way the class had attempted their own poems under the title of 'And my heart soars'. Miss Painter and Mrs Bell were choked up when Megan and Ellie-Mai read their their poem about Megan's cat, Tilly who went missing in March. The poem showed the love Megan had for her cat. There were some excellent poems by other children too. Jack had most of his family in tears over his wonderful poem which talked about his family life.

To follow this work, we read 'Bears in Groovy Shoes' and wrote our own poems in that style. Wil and Josh made everyone laugh, not just with the poem, but with their performance. The whole class voted that they should get the merit of the week! Well done, everyone for getting involved in selecting good work for this award.
The week ended with a disco on Friday night. There were lots of lower junior children present at the first disco, which went really well. Everyone looked very smart and happy. Next week will be the last week - we are looking forward to the holiday, but there is Move up' morning and Open afternoon first.
