Most children had brought little activities or magazines to read on the bus. We left at 8.50 and arrived in good time. There were 2 of four activities to fit in before lunch. Each group did4 altogether. Every one of them was fun and educational with children working hard to learn. They used their listening and 'doing' skills. All the teachers and helpers were impressed with behaviour and the good questions and answers they heard. The activities included: Weapons, Wattle and Daub , Spinning, Deer Walk, Pot Pourri, Corn Dollies, Sweet making.
At lunch time there was a whole year group picnic with hens joining us, looking for scraps of food. We managed a good play before getting down to the second set of workshops. The day finished with an excellent falconry display. Eight children got to call a hawk over for food.
The journey back seemed long; adults appeared to be more tired than the children!
