Performance Poetry!

This week the class continued their unit of Performance Poetry. Mrs Bell was thrilled with the way the class had attempted their own poems under the title of 'And my heart soars'. Miss Painter and Mrs Bell were choked up when Megan and Ellie-Mai read their their poem about Megan's cat, Tilly who went missing in March. The poem showed the love Megan had for her cat. There were some excellent poems by other children too. Jack had most of his family in tears over his wonderful poem which talked about his family life.

To follow this work, we read 'Bears in Groovy Shoes' and wrote our own poems in that style. Wil and Josh made everyone laugh, not just with the poem, but with their performance. The whole class voted that they should get the merit of the week! Well done, everyone for getting involved in selecting good work for this award.
The week ended with a disco on Friday night. There were lots of lower junior children present at the first disco, which went really well. Everyone looked very smart and happy. Next week will be the last week - we are looking forward to the holiday, but there is Move up' morning and Open afternoon first.

This is the very first time we have had a school blog at William Shrewsbury and what a success it has been! This is such a lively, interesting and informative space and I know everyone has enjoyed reading it and contributing to it. It shows all the exciting activities that have been going on in 3B this year. It's obvious that everyone has learnt a great deal and also had lots of fun so well done everyone! A special well done to Mrs Bell for working so hard to keep the blog up to date with the superphotos and information. Thank you 3B and Mrs Bell for a great William Shrewsbury blog - enjoy the holidays and have a good rest!
Best wishes from Mrs Hunter

It was fun doing the performance poetry. We liked working in pairs because we got to work with our best friends. Most people liked doing it and some people didn't.

I have really enjoyed reading your blogs, they have been really informative! Well done to Mrs Bell for managing to keep the blog so up to date and interesting (I don't know how you find the time!), and to all the children for writing such interesting blogs. WELL DONE EVERYONE! Have a lovely summer break and I will see you all in the new year. Remember soon you will all be in Year 4 and you will need to show the new year 3's how to dance at the school disco in October!
