Friday 23rd was the final session of 3B's family learning. It was also the day the group met to talk about the previous weekend when they had all had a wonderful time at Pendrell Hall. Everybody was in agreement that the whole weekend had been great. Emilia has been telling people that she has never seen her Nanny like that before! Mrs Bell reminded the children that adults, like children really enjoy having fun. The residential family learning has been a lot of fun and we all hope the the school will get another opportunity to do it.
Today the children read an example 'thank you' letter by Mrs Bell before writing their own. The pupils had to manage their distractions as some of the mums were busy discussing events from last week and even planning what they might do next week! Luckily with our new Building Learning Power skills, the 'Thank You' letters were soon done. Children used interesting words to write detailed paragraphs of the things they had enjoyed. David Evans, Mrs Hunter and Mrs Bell will get a lot of pleasure from the letters.
The session finished with an evaluation. Mrs Pearson, on behalf of the pupils and parents thanked Mrs Bell for her time and organisation of the whole Family Learning and particularly for giving up her weekend last week. Mrs Bell added her thanks to the children and parents for being a great group to work with. It has been an enjoyable experience for all of us. Thank you, everyone for your participation and enthusiasm.

The last 5 weeks have been very enjoyable and it's been a great opportunity for me to spend some time with Suman (without her demanding baby sister wanting us to read Maisy books!)
The weekend at Pendrell Hall was packed with lots of activities. It's difficult to pick a favourite, however, I really enjoyed the creative writing and kite flying. It was finished off perfectly with the music workshop and our families joining us for a fabulous lunch.
Thank you to Mrs Bell and Mrs Hunter for giving up your weekend to spend it with a bunch of mums and not forgetting the Nannar!

It really has been a pleasure to work with some fantastic children and parents/grandparent from William Shrewsbury Primary School. The children have been supported in their education and they have thoroughly enjoyed the dedicated time their parents have given. The residential weekend was a real bonus and enjoyable (didn't seem like work, at all). I have seen increased confidence in the eight children due to the Family Learning. Well done, all!

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading through your blog and wish I could have been invovled in all your exciting activities. I think it is so exciting that you have started your own blog and I hope that you will persuade other classes to to do the same.
Well done!
I have only just read the blog because I was having difficulty accessing it in Vietnam; the computers in Thailand seem to be of a better standard. I'm really impressed with the blog that you and your class produced; the residential family learning weekend looked like good fun (great idea!). I think I would have enjoyed some of the activities including kite flying and the number trail, it sounds like the weekend was very well organised and enjoyed by all.
It sounds like Mrs Hunter and Mrs Bell enjoyed some wine tasting in the bar on the first night!

After looking at the Blog, Hope wished she could have gone to Pendrell Hall. However, her mum has a baby under the age of one and could not have left him. "Perhaps there will be another opportunity for you in the future, Hope," Mrs Bell commented.
I hope there is another opportunity to do something like this again.I also hope David Evans gets my thankyou letter. Writing thankyou letters was my second favourite workshop.
All the Thank you letters have been given or posted to the people they were written for. I have kept a copy for my file too. The letters were lovely and everyone will appreciate them. Thank you.

Thank you to all the mums/grandma and children for my lovely gifts. A real 'pampering' pack of all my favourite things - flowers, chocolates AND red wine! I appreciate the thoughtful gesture. I really did have a brilliant time with you all and would do it all over again, if there was a chance. Thank you.

I was quite sad when it had all finished and I won't go to Pendrell Hall for years.I wish I could come again!
